Newton’s Law of Cooling

The amount of thermal energy transferred from a surface area A per unit time Δt through convection of fluid is approximately determined by the following relationship:

ΔQ/Δt=-hA(T-T)

where T is the temperature of the surface, T is the temperature of the environment, and h is the convective heat transfer coefficient of the fluid.
