    How does that program take into account the Z dimension with regard to a power source?
    The power source is defined as W/m^3, i.e. the depth of the object (Z direction) has to be defined.

    There is no simple rule, but you can just imagine a slab that is a meter thick. Technically, 2D is only good when you have an infinitely thick slab to the point that the Z dimension doesn’t matter.
